New End of Term Arrangements - Important. Please Read.
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to you to let you know that we have had to change our plans for the final few days of term.
As you may know, Eid-al-Adha falls next week. Consequently a number of staff will be away from school on either Tuesday 20 July or Wednesday 21 July. We also know that some other staff will not be able to attend on one or both of those days for a variety of reasons. To deal with this we could theoretically put students into larger groups or bring in temporary staff from elsewhere, however this is not consistent with keeping everyone in school COVID safe.
Therefore, having conducted a risk assessment and in consultation with the Chair of Governors, we have reluctantly decided that we need to move to remote education for the last two days of term. In other words we are asking that students remain at home on those days, unless you specifically request that they come into school (see below).
The timetable for next week will now be as follows:
Monday 19 July 2021
School as normal. Final assembly in the afternoon.
Tuesday 20 July 2021
Remote lessons (not taught live), accessed via Show My Homework, for periods 1-5.
Wednesday 21 July 2021
Remote lessons (not taught live) accessed via Show My Homework, for periods 1-4.
We will still be able to supervise students in school on Tuesday 20 July and Wednesday 21 July where parents request it. Students will do the remote lessons that have been set by staff for all students in a computer room under supervision. If you would like your child/ren to attend school on one or both of the days, please let us know by completing Form A. Complete a separate form for each child.
If your child will not be in school on one or both days, but you would like to request a free school meal for one or both days (packed lunch), please let us know by completing Form B. Packed lunches will need to be picked up from school on each day that they are ordered.
The deadline for completing the forms is midday on Monday 19 July. If we do not hear from you by then we will assume that you do not wish to take up either offer.
This is an unusual step for us to need to take and certainly not one that we have taken lightly. We regret any inconvenience caused.
Mr D Hood
