Our Year 8 students enjoyed a fantastic day of handsâon science learning during their visit to RHS Wisley, one of the UK’s leading horticultural gardens. The trip gave pupils the chance to explore real-world applications of the topics they’ve been studying in class, from ecosystems and plant adaptations to biodiversity and sustainability.
Throughout the day, students took part in guided workshops led by RHS educators, investigating how different plant species survive in varied environments and how scientists use observation and data collection to monitor changes in habitats.
They also explored the Glasshouse, discovering tropical and desert biomes up close, and spent time in the World Food Garden learning about global agriculture and the science behind crop growth.
Our students also left with some souvenirs, having been given the opportunity to pot their own plants in their workshop.
