Year 7 students took part in an exciting Team Building Day, generously hosted by Wycombe Abbey School. The event was designed to help students develop their teamwork skills, build confidence, show resilience, and work together to solve a variety of problems in a fun and supportive environment.
Throughout the day, students worked alongside staff volunteers from Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) and our sixth form students, who guided, encouraged, and challenged them as they took part in a series of competitive activities as part of The Hub Challenge. These included favourites such as Gutter Ball, Stop the Clock, Ski Walk, Crazy Maze, Changing Places and Helium Stick.
The atmosphere throughout the day was full of excitement, determination, and laughter. Students quickly discovered that success depended on communication, cooperation, and perseverance. Teams were challenged to think creatively, adapt their strategies, and support one another when tasks became difficult. It was fantastic to see students stepping out of their comfort zones, encouraging their peers, and celebrating each other's achievements.
Many students commented on how much they enjoyed meeting new people and working with classmates they would not usually spend time with. Others spoke enthusiastically about the competitive nature of the activities and the sense of achievement they felt when their team successfully completed a challenge. One student described the day as "the best school trip so far," while another said they loved "working together to beat the challenges and cheering each other on."
The Team Building Day was a tremendous success and provided students with valuable opportunities to strengthen friendships, develop important life skills, and create lasting memories. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Wycombe Abbey School, Buckinghamshire New University staff volunteers, and the sixth form students whose support helped make the day such a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
