Another record breaking year for GCSE results at Cressex Community School

Students and staff at Cressex Community School are celebrating another year of record breaking results. 66% of students gained 5 or more passes at grade 4 (old grade C) or better including English and Maths, the best ever achieved by the school. Half of the students achieved a “strong pass” (grade 5) in both English and Maths, up from last year’s high of 44.5%. Fifteen students achieved an average grade of 7 (the old grade A) or better.

Outstanding performances were recorded by: Ayman Akhtar, Harris Anjum, Chahat Chopra, Safa Haroon, Harry Johnson, Amina Khan, Raees Khan, Sonia Khan, Aisha Mazhar and Oliwia Milkiwicz, all of whom had an average grade of higher than 7.

Headteacher David Hood said: “It is wonderful that our students have done so well. These results really set them up for success in the future. This has been a testing year for schools, with major changes to the GCSE exams. Cressex students and staff have risen to the challenge brilliantly and deserve enormous credit for their efforts.”
