Paralympic medallist inspires our female Sports Captains during a day of motivational activities

Twenty female Sports Captains from years 7 to 10 were honoured to work with paralympic judo medallist, Ian Rose, recently as part of the Sky Sports Living for Sport Initiative. Rose began the day by delivering an inspirational assembly, recounting his amazing achievements and encouraging the girls to never be afraid of trying something new.

Various group activities followed, designed to help the students develop valuable life skills and introduce them to six key areas to success, namely; mental toughness, hunger to achieve, people skills, sports and life knowledge, breaking barriers and planning for success.

Finally, everyone took part in a judo master class; an amazing opportunity to learn from the very best. "Meeting paralympian Ian Rose was incredible; he developed our confidence and taught us many valuable life skills throughout the day. He is definitely a person I look up to," echoed Faiza Hussain, year 10.

Well done girls and we look forward to seeing your plans develop.
