Announcement from David Hood, Headteacher, 8 April 2022
I am writing to share with you the news that next term will be my last one as Headteacher of Cressex. I will officially be standing down on 31 August 2022. By that time I will have been in the post for over fourteen years and the time has come to hand over the reins.
In the lead up to this decision I have been working closely with the Governors on a transition plan to ensure that that school continues on its positive path. The likely position is that from 1 September 2022, Mr Khaiam Shabbir will take over as Interim Headteacher. The current Assistant Headteachers will work closely with Mr Shabbir as Interim Deputy Headteachers and the school will appoint a new Assistant Headteacher to join the team. In addition, the Governors have asked if I would be prepared to continue to support the school as a Consultant to the Leadership Team, which I have happily agreed to do. This means that I will continue be present in school for a number of days each week working on various projects for the benefit of our students.
You can be assured of my continuing full commitment up to the end of August. And I look forward to maintaining my association with this wonderful school for a long time to come, albeit – from the Autumn – in a different capacity.
Wishing you a very happy break over the coming fortnight.
