Cressex students' performance in Silver Birch Garsington Opera production captured in ground-breaking BBC film

Students from Cressex were thrilled this summer to have been able to participate in the production of Silver Birch, a celebration of music, drama, poetry and dance led by the world-renowned Garsington Opera company.

A story of a testing childhood, military action in war-torn Iraq and the enduring effects of post traumatic stress were captured in this extraordinary production, involving a cast of 180 members from the community – primary and secondary aged school children, local groups including veterans and family members – performing alongside professional opera singers.

Now you can gain a sense of the spectacle, sounds and backstage build-up of this unique production by clicking on the links below. Feel part of the chorus by immersing yourself in this specially produced BBC Arts 360-degree video capture and ambisonic audio recording as you become cast member number 181. It’s quite an experience!
