Eco Club and Science Department embark on a joint voyage of discovery

Pupils at Cressex are taking part in a UK wide science experiment that is literally out of this world!

Rocket seeds, which have flown to the International Space Station and back, have been planted alongside identical seeds that remained behind on Earth.  The mission is to discover what growing plants in space can teach us about life on Earth and whether food production on Earth can sustain human life in space. Pupils will also be able to learn about the different careers available to them in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) and Horticulture.

The two sets of plants are being closely monitored in a secret location within the Science Department and the results of the experiment will be fed into a national online database.
